Final Results
SOUTH KENT, Conn. – After two days and three rounds, the River Hawks took 18th in the Hartford Hawks Invitational Tournament.
UMass Lowell finished the tournament with a score of 952. The University of Connecticut took first place, scoring a three-round total of 853. The University of Central Florida came in second with a score of 866, followed by Towson University with a score of 867. Host school Hartford University finished seventh with a score of 879.
Sophomore Kevin Scott (Tyngsborough, Mass.) led the River Hawks with a three-round score of 232, placing him tied for 63rd overall. Junior Ryan Paris (Haverhill, Mass.) was second on the team with a score of 234. Junior team captain Jonathan Burgin (Hampshire, England) finished with a 239, while sophomore Eric Byrne (Derry, N.H.) finished with a 248. Sophomore Jimmy Walmsley (Pepperell, Mass.) rounded out the River Hawks with a score of 251.
Paris turned in the lowest 18-hole round for the River Hawks for the second tournament in a row with a 73 in round one.
The River Hawks travel to Sherman, Conn., next Monday, Sep. 28, for the ECAC Division I Men's Intercollegiate Golf Championship.
