HELLERTOWN, Pa. – The River Hawks concluded play in the LeHigh Valley Collegiate Invitational on Monday, where they finished in a tie for tenth place at the Silver Creek Country Club.
UMass Lowell finished in a four-way tie for tenth place with a team score of 617. The other squads finishing at 617 were Siena College, Iona College, and hosting Lafayette College's B Team. St. Peter's University finished with the top overall team score at 591, with Lehigh University very closely behind in second with 592. Also finishing in the top five were Central Connecticut at 594, Monmouth University at 596 and Lafayette College at 598.
Senior
Harry Hulme (Manchester, England) led the River Hawks with a two-round score of 148, with an impressive single-round score of 71 which was among the best in the tournament. Senior
Kevin Fay (Lawrence, Mass.) also turned in a strong showing with a score of 149, and freshman
Jimmy Walmsley (Pepperell, Mass.) finished strong at 150. Sophomore
Joe Vanaman (Nottingham, England) concluded the tournament with a two-round score of 170, and junior
Nick Gordon (Export, Pa.) was closely behind his teammate at 171.
The River Hawks will be back in action on Saturday as they travel to the Mohegan Sun Golf Club in Uncasville, Conn. where they will compete in the Til Duty is Done Collegiate Invitational hosted by UConn.
