GRASONVILLE, Md. – The River Hawks concluded their first invitational of the spring at the Prospect Bay Country Club, finishing 21st at the Whiting Turner Invitational.
UMass Lowell amassed a team score of 331 in the second round of the tournament on Sunday, totaling a two-round score of 664. Arkansas finished the invitational in first place with a total score of 589. Also finishing the tournament in the top five were William & Mary with a score of 605, Seton Hall at 613, Robert Morris at 614 and Hofstra at 622.
Freshman
Jimmy Walmsley (Pepperell, Mass.) led the River Hawks with a two-round score of 159, with senior
Harry Hulme (Manchester, England) just a few strokes behind at 162. Senior
Kevin Fay (Lawrence, Mass.) ended the tournament with a score of 171, and freshman
Kevin Scott (Tyngsborough, Mass.) was closely behind at 172. Sophomore
Mac Cavanaugh (West Newbury, Mass.) finished his first invitational as a River Hawk with a score of 180.
Lloyd Jefferson Go of Seton Hall finished first overall individually at the invitational with a score of 143.
The River Hawks will be back in action on Sunday April 5, as they travel to Hellertown, Pa. to take part in the Lafayette College Spring Invitational.
