Freshman libero Lindsey Visvardis leads UMass Lowell with 19 digs in losing effort
Albany, N.Y. -- The UMass Lowell Volleyball team fell at Albany in straight sets on Sunday afternoon at University Gym. The set scores were 12-25, 22-25 and 12-25.Â
With the loss, the River Hawks fall to 4-18 overall (1-5 AE), while the Great Danes improve their record to 10-8 and 5-1 in America East action.
Freshman outside hitter Haley Shimon (Des Moines, Iowa) posted a team-high seven kills in the losing effort for the River Hawks. Juniors Lauren Bennett (Wilmington, Mass.) and Elima Ahzi (Chula Vista, Calif.) each chipped in with five kills apiece. Freshman libero Lindsey Visvardis (Homer Glen, Ill.) totaled a match-high 19 digs in another solid defensive performance.
Freshman setter Delaney Mendez (Phoenix, Ariz.) amassed 18 assists running the River Hawks' offensive attack.
UMass Lowell returns to action on Sunday, October 25th for a 1pm home match against Quinnipiac at Costello Athletic Center.
