River Hawks Finish Fifteenth at Hartford Hawks Invitational

Hulme Leads UMass Lowell in South Kent

SOUTH KENT, Conn. --
The River Hawks completed their second tournament of the season on Tuesday at the Bulls Bridge Golf Club, where they finished in fifteenth place.
 
Following the third and final round of the invitational, UMass Lowell finished with a score of 938. Taking home first place in the tournament was Hartford, who finished their three rounds at 874. Just behind the host school was the University of Central Florida in the runner-up spot at 876, followed by Connecticut (882), Temple (889) and Seton Hall (895) to round out the top five.
 
Senior Harry Hulme (Manchester, England) led the River Hawks with a three-round score of 230. Just behind Hulme was fellow senior Kevin Fay (Lawrence, Mass.) at 231. Freshman Kevin Scott (Tyngsborough, Mass.) was not far behind with a score of 235 in his second collegiate tournament. Sophomore Jonathan Burgin (Hampshire, England) ended the invitational with a score of 247, followed by junior Nick Gordon (Export, Pa.) at 259.
 
Both Fay and Scott tied for a team-best single round score with 74. Fay was also listed among the top athletes in par 3 scoring for the invitational with a rating of +1. Hulme led the UMass Lowell squad in birdies with nine.
 
The River Hawks will have a quick turnaround, as they take part in the Tuxedo Autumn Invitational in Tuxedo Park, N.Y. this Friday and Saturday. The event is being hosted by Columbia University at the Tuxedo Club.
