Results Manorville, N.Y. – The UMass Lowell golf team shot a 487, in the rain-shortened 27-hole Peter King Memorial Tournament to finish tied for eighth place at the Rock Hill Country Club.
Freshman
Jonathan Burgin (Hampshire, England) finished tied for 13th, (79-36—115).
Junior
Kevin Fay (Lawrence, Mass.) shot rounds of 80-41—121 to finished tied for 33th. Tied in 40
th place junior
Harry Hulme (Manchester, England) shot 80-43—123.
Rounding out the River Hawks was junior
Dan Hinckley (Dracut, Mass.) who tied for 51
st (84-44—128) and freshman
Joe Vanaman (Nottingham, England) who finished tied for 60
th (89-44—133).
Nyack College captured the team event shooting a combined 463. Dominican College Keith Prokop and SNHU Scott Underhill both shot 72-36—108 to capture medalist honors.
The tournament drew 69 players from 14 teams.
UMass Lowell will hit the links again next weekend at the L'il Rhody Invitational in Newport, R.I.
