UMass Lowell Labors to Fifth at ECAC Championship

Hulme UMass Lowell’s leader with 82-81


TEAM RESULTS | INDIVIDUAL RESULTS

EGG HARBOR TOWNSHIP, N.J. (Sept. 30, 2013) – Junior Harry Hulme (Manchester, England) carded rounds of 82 and 81 (163) to lead UMass Lowell to fifth place at the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Championship Sunday and Monday at the Twisted Dune Country Club.
 
UMass Lowell struggled to rounds of 337 and 342 (679) to take fifth among the five teams. Monmouth won the team title with a 307-316—623 while Fairfield took second with scores of 330-310—640. Rider University took third with a 333-312—645 and St. Francis (N.Y.) fourth with a 334-325—659.
 
Hulme placed 11th in the field of 27 individuals while senior Justin Barbera (Milton, Mass.) placed tied for 15th with rounds of 84-83—167. Freshman Ryan Paris (Haverhill, Mass.), making his first appearance this season, shot consecutive rounds of 88 (176) to place 23rd while freshman Jonathan Burgin (Hampshire England) struggled to an 87-90—177 (tied for 24th) and junior Kevin Fay (Lawrence, Mass.) an 84-96—180 (26th).
 
Brady Gooding of Monmouth won medalist honors with a 71-77—148 over James Buttermark of Rider, who carded a 77-77—154.
 
UMass Lowell enters the Binghamton University Fall Invitational Sunday and Monday at The Links at Hiawatha Landing.
