Harry Hulme (Manchester, England) carded rounds of 77-75-82 (234) to lead the UMass Lowell golf team at the University of Rhode Island Adams Cup Golf Tournament Monday at the par-72 Newport National Golf Club.

Making its first appearance as a Division I program, UMass Lowell finished 15
th among 16 teams with a composite score of 960, firing a 317 and 318 for Monday's first and second rounds; and a 325 for Tuesday's third round. The University of Central Florida won the team title with scores of 273-292-291—856 while Bethune-Cookman (Fla.) placed second with rounds of 299-281-292--872.

The host Rams (301-294—595) took third place while the University of Hartford (300-293-315—910) and Johnson & Wales (Fla.) (299-304-307—910) shared fourth place.

Hulme shot rounds of five-over-par 77 and three-over 75 (152) on Monday and an 82 Tuesday to place tied for 41
st in the field of 90 players. Senior
Andrew Fecteau (Newbury, Mass.) placed tied for 53
rd as he shot rounds of 79-75-84—238.

Jonathan Burgin (Hampshire, England) placed in a tie for 71
st with rounds of 82-84-78—244 while junior
Kevin Fay (Lawrence, Mass.) was one stroke behind with a 79-85-81—245. Freshman
John Ryan (Westford, Mass.) finished 89
th with rounds of 85-84-86—255.

Ryan Fricker of Bethune-Cookman earned medalist honors with rounds of 67-66-72--205 while Greg Eason of UCF fired a 66-72-73--211 to finish runner-up.
