BREWSTER, Mass. (Oct. 27, 2013) – Sophomore Harry Hulme (Manchester, England) shot a three-over-par 75 to lead UMass Lowell to a share of 10th place after round one of the New England Intercollegiate Golf Association (NEIGA) Championship at The Captains Golf Course.

UMass Lowell, the defending NEIGA champion, compiled a score of 312 as it shares 10th place with the University of New Hampshire and Elms College. Central Connecticut State sits atop the leaderboard with a score of 288 while the University of Rhode Island is the runner-up with a 297. Bryant (298), Western New England (300) and Providence College (303) rounded out the top five.

Wagner (306) sits in sixth and is followed by Bentley (308) and Southern Maine (308) and Husson College (311).

Hulme, who earned medalist honors last year at the NEIGA Championship, currently sits in a tie for 19th but only five strokes behind Sunday's leader Monte Mullen of Central Connecticut, who fired a two-under 70.

Freshman Jonny Burgin (Nottingham, England) and senior Andrew Fecteau (Newbury, Mass.) sit in a tie for 37th, each with a 77. Senior Justin Barbera (Milton, Mass.) and junior Kevin Fay (Lawrence, Mass.) carded rounds of 83 and stand in a tie for 110th.

The Tournament, which drew 189 players representing 38 colleges, continues Monday.
