River Hawks Come Up Empty Against Stonehill, 3-0

Stonehill College hit a collective .327 to defeat UMass Lowell, 3-0 (25-16, 25-13, 25-14), Tuesday night in a Northeast-10 Conference volleyball clash at the Costello Athletic Center.

With the loss, UMass Lowell slipped to 10-14 overall and 5-9 in the NE-10 and ends the season Friday night at the College of Saint Rose (7:00).

Stonehill improved to 13-14 overall and 7-8 in the Conference.

Sophomore Sierra Brown (San Diego, Calif.) led UMass Lowell with 11 kills while sophomore MH Anisa Smith (Moraga, Calif.) and junior MH Jamie Muntz (West Hartford, Conn.) each chipped in four kills. Junior Brooke Peterson (Del Mar, Calif.) led the defense with 11 digs while junior setter Olivia Parkins (Dracut, Mass.) had 19 assists and nine digs.

Stonehill compiled 41 kills and only eight errors on 101 attacks while the River Hawks struggled to a .072 clip (25 kills, 19 errors, 97 attacks).

Sophomore MB Meaghan Lee led Stonehill with 10 kills while hitting .615 (10 kills, two errors, 13 attacks) while freshman Delia Phillips added nine kills while hitting .429 (9-0-21). Sophomore setter Emily Iverson dished out 26 assists.
