UMass Lowell freshman Paula Lopez (Leon, Spain) earned her first conference award, as she was named the America East Rookie of the Week and River Hawk of the Week, after her performance in her first two career games.

The guard leads the team with 17.5 points per game after scoring 19 in her debut at Rhode Island, and adding another 16 points against Holy Cross. Her 71.4 shooting percentage from beyond the arc leads the team as well, as she is connecting on 60.9 percent of her shots from the field. 

She has added five assists and three steals in the young season as well. This marks the River Hawks first conference weekly award and Rookie of the Week since December 19 of last season.
