Tyler Render is in his first year as manager of the UMass Lowell basketball team. On a typical day for practice he gets the gym ready by providing the clock, water, towels, film, and any other equipment that will be needed. On game days he prepares the bench area so that towels, water, and equipment are available for players and coaches.
Render is a graduate of North Andover High School and was manager for the varsity basketball team for his senior year, under Coach Michael McVeigh. He is looking forward to the season with Coach Herenda to gain all the experience he can on the side lines.
Render says the biggest influences in his life are his family, Coach Michael McVeigh, Coach Roy Williams, and his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Render is the youngest of two children of Carolyn and Gary Rodgers of North Andover, Mass. He is majoring in Undeclared Liberal Arts, and is hoping to declare a major by the start of his sophomore year.
Render also helps with camps during the summer, helping him gain valuable experience, to help him one day become a head coach.
