HERENDA ON STEERE: "Pete is an extremely mature player and person in our program that does so much. He is a relentless worker who battles on a daily basis with all of our big men. Pete shoots the ball very well and has improved on his athletics skills as much as any one on our team. Pete is very focused both on and off the court and brings a much need maturity to our team."

AS A SENIOR: Missed season due to an Injury.

AS A JUNIOR: Played in nine games off the bench • Had a season best of four points against Saint Michael's on Feb. 3.

AS A SOPHOMORE: Joined the River Hawk squad as a sophomore • Saw action in 10 games, tallying his first collegiate points at Saint Rose on Jan. 23.

NASHOBA REGIONAL HIGH SCHOOL: Played varsity basketball for coaches Jon Lesage and Jim Adams at Nashoba Regional High School.

PERSONAL: One of three sons of Gen and Jim Steere of Lancaster, Mass. • Lists Larry Bird as his favorite sports figure and influence • Majoring in Philosophy with a minor in English with aspirations to one day become a teacher or school principal.
