HERENDA ON PORTER:"Dan Porter is key contributor every day in practice and he has his hands full. He has to bring the ball up the court against our own press and guard some of the best guards in the league and get very few breaks. He does all of this with no complaints and he has improved dramatically from last year. Dan plays the point guard position and has the ability to shoot the three as well."

AS A JUNIOR: Saw action in in one game • Had one rebound.  

AS SOPHOMORE: Appeared in six games as a reserve.

ALVIRNE HIGH SCHOOL: Played three years at Alvirne High School and one year (junior) at Bishop Guertin High School • Also played for the New Hampshire Falcons and Nashua Shamrocks club teams • Honor Roll student at AHS.

PERSONAL: Son of Sue and Steve Porter of Hudson, N.H. • Has an older sister • Names the Boston Celtics as his favorite professional team and Chris Paul and Steve Nash as his favorite sports figures • Says making it to the New Hampshire Final Four his senior year and almost beating #1 Trinity as a #12 seed was his greatest sports moment • Majoring in accounting with aspirations to one day be in the FBI.
