Biography


HERENDA ON SINGH:"Dipanjot is a very experienced veteran basketball player and will be a tremendous addition to our basketball program. He comes from a program that competed a very high level. 'D' also brings with him a great love for the game of basketball and a dedication to his own personal game. He really shoots it, defends very hard and can make plays off of the dribble. He will also be very active in our press. We are very fortunate to have him for one year - I wish we could keep him for more."

AS A SENIOR: Played in 29 games for the River Hawks, with nine starts • Second on the team averaging 13.7 points per game • Averaged 3.4 RPG, 1.4 APG and 1.5 SPG • Scored a season-high 27 points on senior night against Bentley in 85-76 win (2/21) • Recorded a double-double with 18 points and 10 rebounds in a 80-51 win over Le Moyne.    

EVANSTON TOWNSHIP HIGH SCHOOL: Led the Wildkits with a Central Suburban League Title, regional, and sectional champioship and 2007 state tournament sweet 16 appearance • Averaged a team-leading 13.0 ppg as a senior • Four-year honor roll student • National Honor Society member • Also lettered on Evanston's volleyball and track and field teams.

UNIVERSITY OF ILINOIS-CHICAGO: Played two years at UIC • Appeared in nine games over the 2009-10 season and became a regular in the rotation in 2010-11 with 22 appearances • Emerged over the second half of his senior season with averages of 5.5 points, 2.0 rebounds and 1.2 assists while shooting .358 (19-53) from 3-point range in 19.3 minutes per game • Season-highs included 17 points (6-10 FG shooting) in an 87-75 loss at Milwaukee; six rebounds in an 83-61 win over Youngstown State; and four assists in a 72-69 loss to Detroit As a junior, featured in nine games with averages of 0.8 points in 3.8 minutes per game • Season-highs included four points in a 72-59 win over Illinois-Springfield • Attended Marquette for one year and Hofstra University for 1.5 years, but did not play at either school.

PERSONAL: Son of Gurinder Pal and Kiranjeet Singh • First name is pronounced "DEE-pin-joe".
