LOWELL, Mass. – UMass Lowell Hockey Head Coach Norm Bazin has announced the addition of Stavros Paskaris to the River Hawks' staff as Director of Scouting/Assistant Coach.

"I am thrilled to join the UMass Lowell River Hawks community and work alongside Coach Bazin and such an outstanding staff," said Paskaris. "I cannot wait to contribute to a program with the tradition and ambition that UMass Lowell hockey represents. This is an incredible opportunity, and I am excited to get started."

Paskaris brings more than 15 years of collegiate coaching experience to Lowell, including NCAA Division I assistant coaching stops at Bowling Green, Dartmouth and Princeton. He has coached programs that have produced 11 NHL contracts, three NCAA Division I All-Americans and numerous all-conference honorees throughout his career.

Most recently, Paskaris spent four seasons as Bowling Green's recruiting coordinator while overseeing the forwards and power play. During his tenure, he revamped the Falcons' recruiting operation by implementing new player identification and evaluation systems, managed scholarship distribution and developed long-term roster management strategies. He also created individualized development plans for current and incoming student-athletes while helping elevate the program's recruiting brand.

Before Bowling Green, Paskaris spent one season at Dartmouth, where he helped establish the program's recruiting strategy under a new coaching staff while directing the forward group. Prior to that, he spent six seasons at Princeton, helping guide the Tigers to the 2018 ECAC Championship and an NCAA Tournament appearance while leading the program's recruiting efforts and helping develop six players who went on to sign NHL contracts as free agents.

Paskaris began his collegiate coaching career at Ohio University before spending five seasons at Adrian College, where he helped the Bulldogs capture four conference regular-season championships, three conference tournament titles and four NCAA Tournament appearances, including a berth in the 2011 NCAA Division III National Championship game. Most recently, he served as Assistant Athletic Director for Development at Bowling Green before returning to coaching.

He played collegiately at Wayne State University before spending one professional season with the ECHL's Dayton Bombers. He earned a bachelor's degree in business administration and marketing from Wayne State in 2008 and a master's degree in coaching education from Ohio University in 2009.
