LOWELL, Mass. - UMass Lowell Athletics hosted its first-ever Career After Sports Workshop, a panel discussion designed to help student-athletes better understand the transition from college athletics to the workforce.
The program was created through a partnership between Assistant Director of Student-Athlete Success
Ben Geier, Vi-Leon Talent Acquisition & Marketing Manager Abigail Campion, and Vi-Leon Professional Recruiter and UMass Lowell alumnus ('25)
Andres Hulfachor. This semester, the baseball team participated in the workshop.
"It was amazing that we were able to get Abby, Dre, and the Vi-Leon team involved in a professional development workshop for our student-athletes," said Geier. "I'm hopeful we can continue to build upon this partnership and bring in even more alumni in the future."
Campion and Hulfachor were also joined by Vi-Leon Account Manager Arianna Sylvester and Professional Recruiter Alex Charles.
"The correlation between being a college athlete and working in the staffing industry is even stronger than I originally thought," said Hulfachor, who pitched for the UMass Lowell River Hawks from 2023–25.
"Dre is one of a kind," Geier added. "He's an eloquent speaker who really knows how to keep a crowd engaged. Overall, I was very pleased with the panel Vi-Leon brought in."
UMass Lowell Athletics looks forward to continuing its partnership with Vi-Leon, a Beverly, Massachusetts-based staffing firm and a national consulting firm specializing in digital solutions, data analytics, AI and life sciences
