LOWELL, Mass. - UMass Lowell Athletics announced a historic partnership with Workers Credit Union as the first ever jersey patch sponsor for the River Hawks on Tuesday. Under the new partnership agreement, all UMass Lowell ice hockey, and men's and women's basketball jerseys will feature a Workers Credit Union jersey patch for the 2026-27 seasons.
Â
"We are grateful to Workers Credit Union for investing in our programs and being the first ever jersey patch sponsor for River Hawk Athletics," said Director of Athletics Lynn Coutts. "These types of partnerships allow us to compete at the highest level and ultimately vie for championships in America East and Hockey East. The Workers Credit Union commitment to excellence and community aligns perfectly with our core values here at UMass Lowell."
Â
As one of the most visible partnership opportunities in college athletics, the Workers Credit Union patch will provide regional and national exposure throughout the hockey and basketball seasons.
Â
"Partnerships like this reflect the momentum surrounding our program and the incredible support we have from the corporate community," added Deputy Athletic Director Eric Allen.
Â
Beginning with the hockey home opener against Clarkson University on Friday, October 9, the Workers Credit Union logo will be featured on the River Hawk jerseys. The patch will appear on all home, away and alternate uniforms for hockey and basketball in 2026-27.
Â
"Workers Credit Union is proud to be partnering with UMass Lowell Athletics, a program that is such a source of pride for the city and region," said Mike Dubuque, Workers Credit Union Chief of Growth Initiatives. "We look forward to a long partnership with this highly regarded public university, which is preparing students from every background for a prosperous future."
Â
Additionally within this agreement, all hockey games on Friday nights will start at 7:14 p.m. as part of the Workers Credit Union "Clock In" Campaign. Since 1914, Workers Credit Union has been clocking in members and turning their hard work into reality. Â
