LOWELL, Mass. – Director of Athletics Lynn Coutts has announced the promotion of Matt Delmonte to Associate Athletic Director for Facilities and Event Management. Delmonte has been a member of the River Hawk staff since 2017.

"This past year, Matt took on a tremendous amount of responsibility from managing a major facility project to leading our operations team with confidence and care," said Coutts. "He's built strong, trusted relationships with coaches, staff and campus partners, and that kind of collaboration is key to everything we do. He brought much-needed stability and strong leadership during a key time of transition."

In his new role, Delmonte will continue to oversee event management for all varsity sports, as well as facility maintenance for all athletic facilities. He also now serves as a sport administrator and oversees project management, such as the recent renovation to Wicked Blue Field. At the conference level, Delmonte is a member of the America East Championship Committee, and on campus, is a part of UMass Lowell's emergency management team.

"I am honored to be stepping into the role of Associate Athletic Director for Facilities & Event Management here at UMass Lowell," commented Delmonte. "I am thankful for the trust that our Director of Athletics, Lynn Coutts, has in me to continue to elevate our athletic department to new heights. I am also grateful to be able to continue working alongside all of the great support staff, coaches and administrators within our department. I look forward to the challenges that this position will present and am excited to build on the success and growth that our department has already and will continue to experience.

Delmonte has grown through the ranks of the UMass Lowell Athletics Department, earning a promotion to Assistant Athletic Director in 2022 after working at the Director of Athletic Operations since 2021. In his roles, he has served as the primary contact for all home events, while working closely with support staff, visiting teams and officials.

Delmonte, who first joined UMass Lowell in July 2017 as the Team Services Manager, earned his bachelor's degree in sport management ('15) and master's in athletic administration ('17) from Springfield College.
