Delmonte enters his seventh year at UMass Lowell, currently holding the title of Assistant Athletic Director for Events and Operations in 2024.
Delmonte joined the River Hawks in July of 2017 and was promoted to his current position in January 2022.
In his current role, Delmonte’s primary responsibility pertains to event management for all varsity sports, as well as facility maintenance for all athletic facilities. Delmonte is the primary contact for all home events and works closely with support staff, visiting teams, and officials. He also works with the university facilities department and external contractors to ensure the facilities are in proper condition. Delmonte assists in overseeing the hiring and management of student-employees which include event personnel and building supervisors.
Prior to his current position, Delmonte was promoted to Director of Athletic Operations in June 2021. In this position, he provided oversight for the scheduling of all athletic facilities and events, student employees, was the secondary contact for event management, and helped out with supervising equipment operations.
Delmonte first joined UMass Lowell in July 2017, where he served as the Team Services Manager. In this role, he oversaw the equipment operations for all sports. He received, took inventory, and distributed all gear to the proper channels. Delmonte looked after the daily maintenance of athletic equipment. He was responsible for hiring, scheduling, and supervising the equipment room student workers to assist with athletic laundry regularly. Additionally, Delmonte was the event manager at assigned intercollegiate athletic events. Delmonte was also responsible for scheduling the travel arrangements for all programs and being the primary contact with our bus company.
His first encounter with UMass Lowell was an internship with the athletic department. Delmonte also interned with UConn Athletics, where he worked in the Facility, Events and Operations department.
A native of Methuen, Mass., Delmonte earned his bachelor’s degree in sport management (’15), and his master’s in athletic administration (’17) from Springfield College. Delmonte currently resides in Worcester, Mass. with his wife Jamie.
