Box Score STONY BROOK, N.Y. – The UMass Lowell baseball team (4-12, 0-2 AE) fell to the Stony Brook Seawolves (6-11, 2-0 AE) in extra innings on Saturday afternoon.
Freshman
LJ Keevan (Holden, Mass.) got the start for the River Hawks. Keevan pitched 5.1 innings, striking out four and allowing five earned runs. On the offensive side, senior

Fritz Genther (Kingston, N.Y.) each registered three hits and one run. Siracusa led the team with two RBIs on the afternoon.
"Another typical UMass Lowell/Stony Brook baseball game today," said head coach
Ken Harring. "It was a dogfight, and they came out on top. It was a good game, but not the result we wanted. We just need to find a way to win these kinds of games."
The Seawolves got on the board early, taking a 1-0 lead in the second inning. UMass Lowell responded in the top of the third, as freshman
Jacob Humphrey (Standish, Maine) singled to left and stole second to put the tying run in scoring position. Genther then doubled to bring Humphrey in before Siracusa's single up the middle scored Genther for a 2-1 lead for the visitors.
A solo home run in the fourth for Stony Brook tied things up at 2-2. Siracusa continued to lead the offense, opening the sixth inning with a triple down the right line. Freshman
Brandon Fish's (Londonderry, N.H.) double brought in Siracusa to give UMass Lowell the lead once again. Junior
Cedric Rose (Pittsfield, Mass.) singled up the middle to bring in Fish for a 4-2 lead.
The hosts answered in the bottom of the sixth with a double that brought in two runs to tie the game. A triple to right field brought in another run for Stony Brook and gave them a 5-4 lead. A sacrifice fly from Siracusa in the seventh inning tied the game at 5-5 heading into the eighth.
Sophomore
Zach Fortuna (Newburyport, Mass.) and senior
Matt Draper (Lowell, Mass.) got out of the final two innings without giving up any runs. The River Hawk offense could not take the lead, so the teams went to extra innings to find a winner.
Junior
Ryan Proto (Centerville, Mass.) hit a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to give the River Hawks a 6-5 lead. The hosts answered in the bottom half with back-to-back solo home runs for a 7-6 victory.
