River Hawks edged in overtime at Holy Cross, 13-12

Isaac Bot, Dakota Clark and Jake Lining all scored three goals apiece in the losing effort
WORCESTER, Mass. -- The UMass Lowell Men's Lacrosse team fell in overtime at Holy Cross, 13-12 on Tuesday afternoon at Kuzniewski Field in non-conference play.
The River Hawks drop to 1-2 overall with the loss, while Holy Cross improves to 3-1 overall after the victory.
"I thought we played really hard, a noticeable difference from last game," said UMass Lowell Head Coach Ed Stephenson. "A really great effort all around, we had a little lull in the second quarter, but overall a real fierce effort from both teams. It was literally a battle the entire time and went to OT."
Holy Cross' Sean Mullaney scored as time expired in the extra frame to clinch the victory for the Crusaders.
UMass Lowell outscored the Crusaders 4-0 in the fourth quarter and tied the game with 21.8 seconds left in regulation on Isaac Bot's (Calgary, Alta.) marker of the game. Bot, Dakota Clark (Bedford, N.H.) and Jake Lining (Rochester, Mich.) each totaled three goals apiece in the losing effort. Bot also finished the day with a team-high five shots on goal for the River Hawks.
Clark tallied two goals in third quarter, along with goals from Dan Cozzi (Reading, Mass.) and Lining to keep the game within striking distance.
Holy Cross stormed back after the early start by the River Hawks to score 10 of the next 11 goals in the contest.
The River Hawks opened the game with a 3-0 lead in the first eight minutes of the game on two goals by Bot and one by Harry Morrill (Hyde Park, Mass.).
Sophomore goalie Hunter Braun (Hartland, Mich.) posted seven saves, while Holy Cross netminder Jonathan Tesoro also stopped seven shots in the win.
UMass Lowell returns to action on Saturday, February 22nd at Siena. Game time from Hickey Field in Loudonville, N.Y. is 3 p.m.
