LOWELL, Mass. -- Seven UMass Lowell Hockey student-athletes will participate at National Hockey League (NHL) development camps beginning this week.

Rising senior goaltender Tyler Wall (Leamington, Ont.) will take part in camp with the New York Rangers at the MSG Training Center starting on June 24th. Wall has posted a 11-7-3 record with a 2.09 GAA and a .921 save percentage with four shutouts in 21 starts for the River Hawks in his junior campaign. Sophomore defenseman Seth Barton (Kelowna, B.C.), who was a 2018 draft pick of the Red Wings, will take part in his second development camp with Detroit from June 25th to 29th at the BELFOR Training Center inside Little Caesars Arena. Barton played in 33 of 37 games for UMass Lowell in his freshman campaign, amassing 10 points (2g,8a) with a +6 plus/minus rating.

Returning forwards, junior Connor Sodergren (Tewksbury, Mass.) and sophomore Reid Stefanson (Winnipeg, Manitoba) will participate in the St. Louis Blues and Winnipeg Jets camps, respectively. Sodergren had a career year for the River Hawks, as he skated in all 37 contests and recorded a career-high 21 points (5g,16a) with a team-best +13 plus/minus rating. Stefanson had 20 points (8g,12a) in his 36-game rookie campaign, which ranked fifth on the River Hawks' roster.

Incoming freshmen Logan Neaton (Brighton, Mich.) and Andre Lee (Karlstad, Sweden), who were selected in the 2019 NHL Draft on Saturday will attend their respective camps with the Winnipeg Jets and the Los Angeles Kings, respectively. Freshman forward Matt Brown (Wood Ridge, N.J.) will also attend the Boston Bruins camp at Warrior Ice Arena from June 26-29.

In addition to the seven current River Hawks, former forward Ryan Dmowski (East Lyme, Conn.) will accompany Wall at the New York Rangers camp, while former captain Ryan Lohin (Chadds Ford, Pa.) will attend the Tampa Bay Lightning camp, which starts on June 25th.

The River Hawks officially open their season on Saturday, October 5th against Alabama-Huntsville at the Tsongas Center.
