LOWELL, Mass. – UMass Lowell Associate Athletic Director for Communications Pete Souris has announced the promotion of Aaron King to Director of Multimedia and Production. King previously served as the department's multimedia assistant for 2018-19.

"We are very excited to elevate Aaron to the Director of Multimedia and Production position," said Souris. "He is very talented and we think he will do a tremendous job at advancing our River Hawk brand, and telling the stories of our amazing student-athletes. Aaron has done great work in his time here during the last two years as a student and a multimedia assistant, and we look forward to him growing the department in the future."

In his new role, King will be responsible for creating video content for all River Hawk Nation platforms, in addition to producing live events for digital and television broadcasts.

"I'm delighted to be given the opportunity to see to the growth of UMass Lowell Athletics and its video department in an ever-changing digital field," said King. "In particular, I'd like to thank Director of Athletics Peter Casey, Pete Souris, and the rest of the communications staff for affording me this chance."

Prior to his promotion, King helped promote the UMass Lowell athletics department as the multimedia assistant by producing content for social media and facilitating broadcasts for all 16 of the university's Division I programs.

King has spent time as a freelance video producer, working with a variety of clients to produce projects ranging from promotional to documentary to wedding videos. In doing so, he managed all phases of those projects from pre-production to shooting and post-production.

A graduate of UMass Lowell, he worked as the assistant TV studio manager for the university's digital media department as a student to help create videos for a wide variety of departments across campus. As an undergraduate, he also spent time as an intern/associate producer with Lowell Telecommunications Corporation, working in studio, as well as on edited pieces for community shows and features.

King, a native of Medford, Mass., received his bachelor's degree in English with a digital media minor in 2017 from UMass Lowell.
