River Hawks gear up for a two-game week

SCOUTING THE RIVER HAWKS: UMass Lowell enters the fourth and final game of this home stand against the Stags with a 1-2 overall record, after a 18-13 win against Siena this past Saturday at Cushing Field Complex. The team shattered the Div. I school record for goals in a single game, this previous mark of 12 goals was accomplished twice in 2016. Junior, Midfielder Keenan Koswin (Winnipeg, Manitoba) notched his first career hat trick with a career-high five points in the game, while Brett Dattilo (Derry, N.H.) scored his first career goal on Saturday, and set three new school records with 23 faceoff wins, 70% faceoff pct., and nine groundballs. He won 10-of-11 faceoffs in the fourth quarter, which led to the River Hawk securing their first victory of the season. Sophomore goalie Grant Lardieri (Ada, Mich.) recorded a career-high and program-record 19 saves in the 18-13 win against Siena on Saturday.

UMass Lowell leads America East as a team with 41.33 groundballs per game. 

SCOUTING THE STAGS: Fairfield own a 1-2 overall record and a 1-1 road mark so far this season, the Stags are coming off a 8-3 loss at No. 14 Rutgers last Saturday. The Stags lone win came on Feb. 18th against Bucknell by  a 13-12 score. Goalie Tyler Behring notched 16 saves (8 goals allowed). Colin Burke leads the team with eight points (5g,3a), while Behring owns a 11.64 GAA and a .549 save percentage in three starts (39 saves). 

SCOUTING THE HAWKS: Monmouth owns a 2-2 record, which includes a 11-10 overtime loss at Delaware last Saturday. Both of the Hawks victories have come by two goals, against Villanova and Wagner. Tyler Keen leads Monmouth with 11 points and 10 goals. 

TYRRELL GETS HOT START:  Junior attackman Sean Tyrrell (Calgary, Alta.) leads the team with 13 points (4g,9a) through three games, he has 4 points in every contest so far, which includes a career-high five points last Saturday vs. Siena. Tyrrell currently ranks second in America East with three assists per game and his 4.33 points per game is tied for fifth among AE players. 

LARDIERI SAVING THE DAY:  Grant Lardieri has amassed 39 saves so far this year with a .520 save percentage. He has recorded 10 stops in all three starts so far this season. He ranks second among AE netminders with 13 save per contest.
