SCOUTING THE RIVER HAWKS: UMass Lowell enters tonight's match with a 3-3 overall record, after a 2-1 weekend at the Crusader Classic over the weekend. The River Hawks earned a 3-0 victory against host Holy Cross in their most recent match on Saturday afternoon. UMass Lowell needs just one victory to tie its Div. I school win mark, which was set each of the last two seasons. Two-time America East Rookie of the Week
Katherine Claybaugh leads the team with 64 kills, to go along with 3.56 kills per set, which ranks second among America East players.
The River Hawks are one of three teams in America East with three wins so far this season. UMass Lowell leads all America East teams with a .202 hitting percentage in six matches so far this year.
SCOUTING THE BOBCATS: Quinnipiac enters tonight's match with a 5-3 record, it's best start since joining Div. I in 1998. Quinnipiac went 1-2 at the Terrier/Rose Hill Classic over the weekend, extending its winning streak to four straight with a 3-0 sweep of NJIT on Friday before dropping a pair of road matches in two different gyms on Saturday to Saint Francis Brooklyn (3-2) and Fordham (3-0). The teams split a pair of 3-2 decisions a year ago. UMass Lowell picked up its first Div. I victory two years ago at Quinnipiac.
