LOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell women's lacrosse team will host Hartford Tuesday, April 26, at 7 p.m. in the River Hawk's final game of 2016. The team will honor its seniors and former River Hawk student-athlete Toni Onikeku on Tuesday night at Wicked Blue Field.

SENIOR DAY
The River Hawks will celebrate Senior Day with a special pre-game ceremony before the senior class will play its last game under the lights. Defenseman Laura Kender (Chelmsford, Mass.) and midfielder Elizabeth Kender (Chelmsford, Mass.) will each be recognized and will be the first graduating senior class from the women's lacrosse program. PLAY FOR TONI
This past summer, UMass Lowell unexpectedly lost student-athlete Toni Onikeku, a high jumper on the men's track and field team. Not just an outstanding athlete, he was also an executive board member on the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and a volunteer at a refugee center right in Lowell. Each River Hawk team has honored Toni with a game played in his memory this year. The lacrosse team plans to continue the tradition on April 26 against Harvard, sporting blue ribbons for Toni and pausing for a moment of silence prior to the start of the game.

SCOUTING HARVARD
Harvard (7-6, 3-3 Ivy) enters Tuesday's contest looking to snap a three game skid, after falling to ranked opponents No. 15 Penn, No. 14 Boston College and No. 16 Cornell, in its most recent games. Julia Glynn is pacing the squad with 38 points and 19 assists, in addition to adding 19 goals of her own, while Marisa Romeo is first on the team with 25 tallies. Goaltender Kelly Weis owns an 8.54 goals against average and a .460 save percentage, through 13 games so far this season.

SERIES HISTORY

Harvard leads the all-time series 1-0, in the sport of women's lacrosse, after topping the River Hawks last season, 12-1, on April 22.
