LOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell women's lacrosse team will wrap up its five-game road swing with a 7 p.m. nightcap at Bryant on Wednesday, March 30, before entertaining UMBC on Saturday, April 2 at 11 a.m.
 
Looking at UMass Lowell
The River Hawks (1-8, 0-1 AE) are looking to snap a five-game skid as they head into the final game of a five-game road stretch. UMass Lowell was recently handed a 16-3 loss in their America East opener at New Hampshire on March 26.
 
Leading the Flock
Freshman attacker Noelle Lambert (Londonderry, N.H.) is pacing the squad in goals (10) and points (15), while being tied with sophomore attacker Taylor Sokol (Hopkinton, Mass.) for a team-high five assists through nine games so far this season. Sokol, and freshmen midfielders Kelly Moran (Newfields, N.H.) and Kristina Keith (Exeter, N.H.) are posting nine goals apiece, in addition to recording 14, 11, and 10 points respectively. Moran headlines the squad with five free position goals and 25 draw controls and 17 shots on goal. Between the pipes, sophomore goalkeeper Courtney Barrett (South Burlington, Vt.) has picked up 92 saves, a 12.73 goals against average and a .467 save percentage, including a team-high 40 ground balls and nine caused turnovers.
 
Scouting Bryant
The Bulldogs enter Wednesday's contest 5-3 overall, while currently riding a three-game win streak. In the squad's lone contest last week, Bryant picked up a road victory at Siena, edging the Saints,13-12, on March 22. Lauren Descalzo is notching a team-high 22 goals and 25 points, while teammate Nicole Britton trails closely behind with 24 points, in addition to a team-best 11 assists. Through eight games so far this season, time in net has been split between goalkeepers Daja Andrews (1-2) and Samantha Santeramo (4-1). Andrews is tallying a 11.81 goals against average and a .379 save percentage, while Santeramo is posting a 9.18 goals against average and a .500 save percentage.
 
Scouting UMBC
The Retrievers enter this week 6-3 overall after picking up wins in three of their last four outings, including an 11-6 victory in their most recent contest at Duquesne on Saturday, March 26. Through nine games so far, Caroyln Jamison is notching an impressive 29 goals and seven assists for 36 points so far this season, while Sam Nolan sits closely behind with 24 goals and 10 assists for 34 points, good for second and fourth in the conference. In net, Ashley Peacock's .481 save percentage ranks third in the America East, while her 8.23 goals against average ranks fourth best amongst all goalkeepers in the conference.
                                  
Atop the America East

Goalkeeper Courtney Barrett is headlining several conference statistic categories so far this season, as she ranks first in ground balls (40), ground balls per game (4.44) and saves per game (10.22), in addition to notching a .467 save percentage, good enough for fourth in the conference. Midfielder Kelly Moran has found herself her amongst the ranks, as her 2.78 draw controls per game are good for fifth in the America East.
 
On the National Stage

As of March 28, goalkeeper Courtney Barrett ranks first in the nation in ground balls per game, averaging 4.44.
 
Honors and Awards

Freshman attacker Noelle Lambert garnered her first America East Rookie of the Week honor on Feb. 29 after netting nine points (5g, 4a) in a two game span for the River Hawks. Freshman midfielder Kristina Keith was tabbed America East Rookie of the Week on March 7, after posting four goals and one assist in the squad's first program win, while tying a program-high five points in a single contest.
