LOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell women's soccer team is back home on Monday, September 28 under the lights ready to square off against Quinnipiac University for a 7 p.m. contest. The River Hawks are coming off a four-game road trip and looking to use the excitement of playing at home in their battle against the Bobcats to propel them into a victory.

Looking at UMass Lowell
The River Hawks are 2-7-0 so far in 2015 after dropping a 4-1 decision last week on Sept. 24. The squad's performance against Dartmouth was a hard-fought battle that held the high scoring Big Green to one goal in the first half. Goalkeeper Julia Schneider (Bridgewater, Mass.) made a career high eight saves in the outing. So far this year, Schneider has logged two blank sheets resulting in the team's only two wins of the season. Rachel Morrier (Plaistow, N.H.) continues to lead the River Hawks with three goals on 11 shots for six points in five games. In the net, Schneider has recorded all nine decisions on the year with a 2-7 record. The freshman has tallied 34 saves with a 2.78 goals against average.

Scouting Quinnipiac
The Bobcats enter this week with a 4-3 record after losing back-to-back contests in the team's most recent outings. Quinnipiac lost to America East foe, UAlbany, on Sept. 15 before being blanked by Rider (2-0) on Sept. 19. The squad will visit Saint Peter's for a 12 p.m. contest on Sept. 26 before traveling to Cushing Field. Jess Fontaine and Nadya Gill are first on the team with three goals apiece. Fontaine also leads the squad in assists (3), points (9), and shot percentage (.375). Goalkeeper Natalia Grodzki (4-3) posts a 1.55 goals against average with 30 saves on the year.

Head Coach Joel Bancroft on Quinnipiac
"Quinnipiac is in the midst of its best season in quite some time. They are young and creative on the front end and aggressive and organized throughout their side. They've already enjoyed two positive results against the America East this year and it will take a full 90 minute team commitment to get a result on Monday. We look forward to the challenge."

Series History
Monday's contest will be the first time that UMass Lowell and Quinnipiac will square off.

Honors and Awards
Julia Schneider (Bridgewater, Mass.) received America East Rookie of the Week honors on Sept. 21 after posting her second straight blank sheet and four saves in a 2-0 victory over Bryant.
