Lowell, Mass. – The UMass Lowell men's lacrosse team hosts Binghamton in their second-to-last home game of the season Saturday at 1 p.m.

River Hawk Recap
The River Hawks faced their second ranked team of the season and fell to No. 10/9 UAlbany 25-0 last Saturday at John Fallon Field. UMass Lowell fell behind 9-0 after one period and 16-0 at halftime. Goalkeeper Alex Desmarais (Atkinson, N.H.) recorded a game-high ten saves for the River Hawks before Giles Ober (Southborough, Mass.) came on in relief to stop eight shots. Freshman Cory Highfield (Toronto, Ontario) scooped up a team-best three ground balls.

Oh, Canada
Much of the River Hawks offensive production this season has come from players of Canadian descent. The team's three leading scorers, Jon Phillips (Delta, B.C.), Sean Tyrrell (Calgary, Alberta) and Cory Highfield all hail from Canada. Tyrrell leads the team with 11 goals, while Highfield and Phillips have chipped in with 10 and 9 goals, respectively.

Two for the Price of One
Sophomores Giles Ober and Alex Desmarais have both seen time as goalkeeper over the last two weeks. Ober leads the team with 98 saves while Desmarais in 88 minutes has recorded 39 of his own.

Scouting Binghamton
The Bearcats enter Saturday's tilt with a record of 2-6 and 1-1 in America East play. Binghamton is currently riding a three-game losing streak after a close 13-12 loss against Hartford last Saturday. The team's leading scorer is the coach's son, senior attackman Tucker Nelson (9g, 15a) while senior Paul O'Donnell and redshirt-freshman Sean Gilroy are co-leaders with 13 goals apiece.

Head Coach Ed Stephenson on Binghamton
"We're excited to be hosting an another America East Conference game versus Binghamton University Saturday.  Binghamton is a veteran group that has been very competitive this season."
