Twitter: @RiverHawkWlax  @RiverHawkNationLOWELL, Mass. – The UMass Lowell women's lacrosse team hosts its first ever America East game, entertaining the UAlbany Great Danes on March 21 at 12 p.m.
The game is part of the Lacrosse Alumni, Friends and Family Day celebration. The festivities include the women's game, a tailgate at 1:30, followed by the men's lacrosse game at 3 p.m.
The River Hawks' also host the Bryant Bulldogs on Monday, March 23 on 4 p.m.
River Hawk ReviewThe River Hawks fell to Quinnipiac, 15-5, on March 14.
Jesse Jay (Amherst, N.H.) led the team with a career-high three goals, and
Emily Wright (Avon, Conn.) added two.
Liz Auffant (Hampton, N.H.) recorded her first collegiate point with her first assist.
Jumping for JayFollowing her career day, Jay leads the River Hawks with nine goals and five assists for 14 points. She has recorded at least one point in every game, and has notched a goal in the previous six games.
Protecting the NestCourtney Barrett (South Burlington, Vt.) leads the America East and is seventh nationally with 79 saves. Her 11.27 saves per game also lead the conference, and rank third in the nation. She also has team-highs in ground balls (27) and caused turnovers (12). Barrett is also averaging 3.85 ground balls per game, second in the nation and leading the America East.
Beginning of a New EraIn its first year of competition, UMass Lowell's roster consists of 21 freshmen, two juniors and one sophomore.
Scouting UAlbanyThe Great Danes sit at 6-1, their only loss was against No. 2 North Carolina, 10-6 on March 13. Rachel Bowles leads the team with 22 goals and 32 points. Maureen Keggins has a team-high 18 assists with 31 points. Emma Powlin has recorded 28 draw controls, and Courtney Henderson leads the team with 15 ground balls. Henderson has made 36 saves in net, and carries a 6.55 goals against average and a .456 save percentage.

Albany has an all-around solid fundamental squad that will be a good test for us at this point in the season. This week at practice we got back down to the basics, and we hope it helps us re-focus on executing the small things, minute-to-minute."
Scouting BryantBryant enters Monday's game with a 5-2 overall record. The squad has won four of its last five games, including the last three. In their most recent outing, the Bulldogs earned a 13-10 victory at UC Davis on March 14. Emily Columbus paces the squad with 10 assists and 29 total points. Lauren Descalzo follows with 27 points, including a team-high 23 goals, while Nicole Britton adds 20 points. Samantha Santeramo has started five games in net with a 9.26 goals against average and 33 saves for a .446 save percentage.
