River Hawks to host "Bowling for Impact" on Sunday, April 12th

The event at Brunswick Zone raised over $4,000 last spring

LOWELL, Mass. - The UMass Lowell Student-Athlete Advisory Committee will host its Eighth Annual "Bowling for IMPACT" event on Sunday, April 12 at Brunswick Zone in Lowell from 6-8 p.m.

"Bowling for Wishes has proven to be a successful fundraiser for us every year, and we are looking forward to sharing this event with Team IMPACT this year, " said SAAC President Courtney Lanfranchi. "Raising money for a great organization and getting to bring out our competiveness with our teammates is always exciting. It will be fun to share this time with our Team IMPACT members as well."

Every year, with the goal to make an impact on the lives of others, SAAC puts on events to raise funds and awareness for an organization. With the transition to Division I, the committee decided to target a different organization, this year being Team IMPACT.

Team IMPACT (Inspire, Motivate, and Play Against Challenges Together) is a non-profit dedicatedto improvingthe quality of life for children facing life-threatening and chronic illnesses. This year, all the proceeds will go to the organization. The goal of the event is to raise money and awarenessfor the Team IMPACTchildren.

Last year's event raised more than $4,000 and for the second year in a row, the River Hawk field hockey team raised the most money of any UMass Lowell athletic team.
