HANOVER, N.H. – Three River Hawks earned victories as the UMass Lowell men's track and field team competed at the Dartmouth Indoor Classic on Saturday.
"Our field events all had a really good day," said Head Coach
Gary Gardner. "The whole day went just as we were hoping leading into the conference meet with some of our performers sitting out to get some extra rest."
Patrick Greaney (Mansfield, Mass.) won the long jump with a jump of 22-1 (6.73 meters), just ahead of the second place finisher (6.29 meters).
John Fiorello (Tewksbury, Mass.) was victorious in the shot put with a toss of 52-11.50 (16.14 meters). The final win of the day came from
Gilberto Brown (Lowell, Mass.) in the high jump, with a height of 6-8 (2.03 meters).
Richard Kirby (Tewksbury, Mass.) finished second the 500-meter run with a time of 1:06.99.
Randy Nong (Lowell, Mass.) and Ryan Hayes finished fifth and sixth in the 800 with times of 1:59.41 and 2:00.34, respectively.
Jacob McKinnon (North Attleboro, Mass.) landed in sixth place with a jump of 20-9.25 (6.33 meters) in the long jump.
UMass Lowell is off until next weekend for the David Hemery Valentine Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
