LOWELL, Mass. - The UMass Lowell men's basketball team, who is currently 10-13 overall and 4-6 in America East action, travels to Albany for a 7:30 p.m. contest on Saturday, February 7. It will be the second game of a doubleheader at the SEFCU Arena, as the River Hawks' women's basketball team with square off against the Great Danes first at 5 p.m.
LAST TIME OUTFreshmen 
Matt Harris and 
Lance Crawford posted career highs of 21 and 18 points, respectively, to lead UMass Lowell to a 67-51 victory against UMBC Thursday. Harris, who also helped pace the team on the glass with five rebounds, tallied a personal-best eight field goals in his first 20-point outing. He led a bench that outscored that of the Retrievers, 34-4. The River Hawks used an 18-2 run in the second half to break the game open and pull away.
LEADING THE FLOCKThrough 22 games, redshirt-freshman 
Jahad Thomas leads the River Hawks with 14.3 points and 6.5 rebounds per game.

Kerry Weldon helps the team on the glass with 4.5 rebounds per game. As a team, UMass Lowell is shooting 41.0% (466-1137) from the floor and 35.3% (162-459) from beyond the arc. The squad is also shooting 66.3% (236-356) from the line.
SCOUTING UALBANYThe Great Danes sit alone at the top of the America East standings with a perfect 10-0 record, in addition to being 15-7 overall. Peter Hooley, Sam Rowley and Evan Singletary are all scoring in double figures, paced by Hooley with 14.5 points per game. Hooley and Singletary also lead the team with 2.9 assists. Rowley controls the glass for Albany, grabbing 6.9 rebounds per game. As a unit, the Great Danes are shooting 43.6% (484-1109) from the field and 36.1% (137-379) from three-point range.
SERIES HISTORYSaturday's contest marks the 13th meeting between UMass Lowell and UAlbany in the sport of men's basketball. The River Hawks lead the all-time series, 7-5, but the Great Danes earned a 64-51 victory when the squads met earlier this season on Jan. 10.
GAME, SET ... MATCHWith the team's 67-51 victory against UMBC on Feb. 5, the River Hawks not only snapped a five-game skid, but also matched their total number of wins from last season.
TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORTSeven of the squad's 10 wins so far have been decided by 10 points or less, including five by seven points or less. The team even trailed in the second half in seven games this year before battling back to earn the victories.  
SUPERIOR SUBSAt UMBC on Jan. 7, UMass Lowell's bench players outscored the Retrievers', 51-1, to help the team come back to earn the overtime victory. The River Hawks' reserves have been pivotal this year, outscoring their opponents, 522-362. That's an average of +7.6 points per game.
STEALING THE SHOWThe River Hawks are first in the AE with 7.0 steals per game. 
Marco Banegas-Flores, who posted a career-high four steals at Rhode Island, is third in the league with 2.0 per game and leads the team with 41 total. The team logged 15 steals at NJIT on Nov. 22 for the first time since reaching the mark against Adelphi on January 11, 2012.

Jahad Thomas set season-high marks for the team with five steals apiece against NJIT and Maine, respectively.
