LOWELL, Mass. -- The UMass Lowell Volleyball team dropped a 3-0 decision to Hartford on Sunday afternoon in America East play at Costello Athletic Center. The set scores were 21-25, 18-25 and 21-25.
The loss drops the River Hawks record to 4-23 overall (1-9 AE), while the Hawks improve to 2-24 overall and 1-9 in conference play.
Freshman middle blocker
Lade Adeniyi (Springfield, Ill.) amassed a team-high eight kills with a .312 hitting percentage and two service aces in the losing effort for the River Hawks. Co-Captain
Rachel Arnason (Kelowna, B.C.) also added seven kills, while outside hitters
Masha Yelsukova (Santa Clara, Calif.) and
Haley Shimon (Des Moines, Iowa) chipped in with six kills apiece.
Junior setter
Alexa Toth (Portland, Ore.) posted 23 assists running the River Hawks' offense and freshman libero
Lindsey Visvardis (Homer Glen, Il.) led the way again on defense with nine digs.
UMass Lowell is back in action this Friday, November 13th as they host Albany in America East play. Match time is 7 p.m. at Costello Athletic Center in Lowell.
