The River Hawks drop to 3-14 overall (0-1 AE) on the season, while the Retrievers up their record to 7-9 overall (1-1 AE).
Freshman outside hitter
Haley Shimon (Des Moines, Iowa) tied a career-high with 12 kills in the losing effort, while posting a .233 hitting percentage. Freshman middle blocker
Lade Adeniyi (Springfield, Ill.) chipped in with seven kills and five total blocks, while freshman outside hitter
Erica Cappellino (Penfield, N.Y.) finished the match with five kills and eight digs.
Junior setter
Alexa Toth (Portland, Ore.) notched 21 assists running the River Hawks' offense. Freshman libero
Lindsey Visvardis (Homer Glen, Ill.) turned in another solid defensive performance with 15 digs.
UMass Lowell recorded 11 kills and .269 hitting percentage in the opening set.
The River Hawk volleyball team returns to action on Sunday, October 4th vs. Stony Brook in America East action at the Costello Athletic Center. Match time is 1 p.m.
