Â
"It's nice to be at home," said Head Coach
Joel Bancroft. "It's a huge factor for a young team, having 500 people there showing their support is a real positive. We've been the better team in three of the four halves that we have played at home."
Â
Only two of the River Hawks first seven games have been at home. Their next three will be at the Cushing Field Complex where the club is 1-1-0.
Â
UMass Lowell (2-5-0), while battling injuries, has dropped four in a row and has been held off the score sheet in the three most recent of those contests.
Â
"Our compete levels have been fine," said Bancroft. "Defense, transition, those areas have been good. From the 18 yard box in, we've got to be better."
Â
Holy Cross, eight games into the season, is still undefeated and Bancroft describes the match as a "regional measuring stick."Â UMass Lowell, in its second year of the transition to Division I, is hoping to develop into a regional powerhouse.
Â
