Â
"We look at games in blocks of two," said Head Coach
Joel Bancroft. "We're coming off a one-and-one weekend and this weekend will be a good test."
Â
The River Hawks are coming off a 2-0 win against Siena College in the Cushing Field Complex opener last Sunday. The win helps build confidence and provides the team with an opportunity to put together a winning streak.
Â
"We showed flashes during the weekend and that builds confidence," said Bancroft. "When kids win, they start to feel it and it builds on itself."
Â
The weekend's games are also about taking the next step in the team's growth and development. There was a lot that the coaching staff liked during the first weekend of competition. The team showed the positive effects of the off-season and preseason conditioning, played well defensively and took a significant step between games one and two offensively.
Â
"We've accomplished a lot," said Bancroft. "We've got to take the next step, we've got to possess more, we've got to create more and we've got to defend the midfield more effectively."
Â

Â
Carlson was praised by her coach for her all around performance; "She made all the saves she had to make, she distributed the ball well and she organized us from the back end."
