Fresh off a 3-0 loss to the host Bulldogs Friday, UMass Lowell looks to earn its first victory Saturday at the Bryant University Tournament against Princeton (10:00) and St. John's (3:00).

On Friday, Brooke Peterson had six kills and Anisa Smith added four.

Princeton suffered a 3-1 loss to Bryant Friday night while St. John's opened with a 3-2 victory over Stony Brook.

The River Hawks continue to press on this season despite injuries to key players. Junior OH Ella Merrill (1.95 kills, 2.73 digs in seven matches) remains day-to-day with an injury while junior Hannah Rey, named to the 2011 NE-10 All-Rookie Team, missed last season to injury but is close to a return.

Smith has emerged the leader for UMass Lowell with 2.04 kills and 0.88 blocks per game. Megan Young (1.17 kills) and Brooke Peterson (1.14 kills) have also been contributors.
