CAMBRIDGE (Sept. 18, 2013) – Sophomore MB Caroline Holte registered eight kills and hit .545 to lead Harvard over UMass Lowell, 3-0, Wednesday night in a non-conference volleyball clash at the Malkin Athletic Center.
 
With the loss, UMass Lowell slipped to 0-8 and enters the Bryant University Tournament this weekend. The River Hawks reunite with former Northeast-10 Conference rival Bryant Friday at 4:00 and meet Princeton Saturday at 10:00 a.m. and St. John's at 3:00.

The match was the sixth of nine straight games away from home for the River Hawks, in their first Division I season.
 
Harvard improved to 4-2 and visits Northeastern Saturday at 7:00.
 
Junior MH Anisa Smith (Moraga, Calif.) led UMass Lowell with six kills while junior OH Brooke Peterson (Del Mar, Calif.) added five. Junior setter Kamiren Humphrey (Tucson, Ariz.) added three kills and eight assists while freshman OH Megan Young (Westlake Village, Calif.) also chipped in three kills.
 
Holte hit .545 (eight kills, two errors and 11 attacks) while junior OH Kristen Casey added seven kills. Senior libero Natalie Dole led the defense with 14 digs while setters Corinne Bain and Hannah Schmidt combined for 31 assists.
