Volleyball falls in three sets, Ella Merrill with ten kills

UMass Lowell volleyball suffered a three set loss to Stony Brook, Friday night at the Costello Athletic Center in Lowell, Mass.

The match scores were 15-25, 21-25 and 16-25.

UMass Lowell falls to 0-23, (0-11, America East), while Stony Brook improves to 15-14, (8-3, America East). The River Hawks return home on Sunday to host UMBC at 11:00 a.m., while the Seawolves travel to Durham, N.H. to play the Wildcats of UNH at 1:00 p.m.

Junior OH Ella Merrill (Bermuda Dunes, Calif) had a team-high ten kills to go along with her five digs. Junior MH Anisa Smith (Moraga, Calif.) had five kills, to go along with three blocks. Junior setter Kamiren Humphrey (Tucson, Ariz.) led the River Hawks with 23 assists.

Stony Brook's Stephanie McFadden led the Seawolves nine kills while Laura Hathaway had a team high 12 digs.
