Mission: All In 2012

New and improved Mission: All In begins on Sept. 4

Your MISSION begins on Sept. 4, are you ALL IN?

The UMass Lowell Athletic Department has launched an improved and expanded Mission: All In campaign, rewarding students for attendance at all River Hawk home games and expanding into non-athletic events as well. The promotion, part of a campus-wide collaboration with the Division of Student Affairs, Office of Student Activities & Leadership, Office of Residence Life, UCAPS and University Dining Services, is one of the most aggressive spirit initiatives ever undertaken on-campus.

The program will kick off on Tuesday, September 4 with a pair of special #CodeBlue events. Students can earn their first points of the year by attending the annual River Hawks on the Roof BBQ on East Campus before heading to the volleyball team's home opener against Merrimack at 7:00PM. Both events are worth four points.

Students will scan their UMass Lowell ID card at all home games and earn points each time. A tally will be kept online, via a new partnership with OurTeam LLC (www.ourteamonline.com), where students can log-in to manage their account, check the leaderboard and see what prizes they have earned.

“We kicked this program off last winter and saw great turnout from our students,” said Scott Donnelly, Coordinator of Athletic Marketing and Sales. “Thanks to the collaboration with the Division of Student Affairs, this new technology will allow us to track and reward participation throughout the entire school year.”

The first iteration of Mission: All In, launched in February of 2012, earned a bronze medal for Best Student Promotion at the annual NACMA Convention in Orlando. The new model, featuring more than 100 events, promises to be even better. Some of the larger events, dubbed #CodeBlue events, will be worth more and give students a chance to boost their point totals quickly.

In addition to a variety of grand prize opportunities for the top point-getters, students will earn rewards as they reach certain plateaus throughout the school year. A prize ladder is in the works to ensure all participants can show off their spirit in style.

“This type of campaign would not have been possible without the energy and excitement of our students, especially Rudy Baez, and we are looking forward to connecting students to all of our amazing athletes as well as other outstanding programming happening at UMass Lowell!” said Sarah Rine, Director of Student Activities & Leadership.

The MISSION: ALL IN concept was created by Baez, a junior at UMass Lowell. Special thanks to graphic designer Liron Asher for assistance with photography and downloads as well as Sean Hladick for his video expertise.
