Sophomore
Karie Judge (Tewksbury, Mass.) placed fifth in the 800 meters and achieved a personal record Saturday at the New Balance Twilight Invitational at the Cushing Field Complex.
Judge, one of two UMass Lowell athletes competing Saturday, ran the 800 meters in 2 minutes, 13.21 seconds and was the sole collegiate runner in the field of 11. Prior to the announcement of the NCAA Championship field, the result would've provisionally qualified for the NCAAs.
Kim Standridge, running as an independent, won the 800 in 2:07.68 while Kathryn McManus of the New York Athletic Club took second in 2:07.92.
Sophomore
Scott Boiko (Chelmsford, Mass.) led all collegiate runners and placed sixth overall in the men's 800 meters in 1:56.51. Joel Hubbard of the Marshfield Track Club placed first in 1:52.66.
UMass Lowell is sending four individuals and the men's 4X400 meter relay team to the NCAA Championship Thursday through Sunday at Colorado State University-Pueblo.
