Senior OH Keidy Candelaria and junior MH Amber Cannady each had 13 kills as the University of New Haven defeated UMass Lowell, 3-0 (25-15, 25-14, 25-17), Saturday afternoon in a Northeast-10 Conference volleyball match at the Charger Gymnasium.

The loss was the second straight for the River Hawks, who slipped 8-9 overall and 3-4 in the NE-10 entering Tuesday night's match against Bentley (7:00).

New Haven improved to 15-1 overall and 7-0 in the Conference.

Sophomore MH Sierra Brown (San Diego, Calif.) led UMass Lowell with eight kills while junior MH Jamie Muntz (West Hartford, Conn.) added seven kills. Sophomore OH Ella Merrill (Bermuda Dunes, Calif.) chipped in six kills and six digs while junior S Olivia Parkins (Dracut, Mass.) dished out 26 assists.

Candelaria hit .476 (13 kills, three errors, 21 attempts) and added 11 digs while Cannady hit .600 (13-1-20). Sophomore S Kaulana Ane compiled 37 assists and eight digs.
