UMass Lowell Athletics

Junior Diamond Jones (Lowell, Mass.) was named UMass Lowell's Northwestern Mutual Athlete of the Week Wednesday after leading the women's track and field team at the Tufts University Cupid Challenge Monday night at the Gantcher Recreation Center.

    Jones won the triple jump with a distance of 37 feet, 2.5 inches and anchored the 4X400 meter relay team which placed first in 1:43:00.
She also placed second in the 60 meter dash in 7.83 seconds.       

    Jones is the daughter of Attle Young and Ben Jones of Lowell, Mass.
