Senior Angus MacDonald (Methuen, Mass.) was named UMass Lowell’s Northwestern Mutual Athlete of the Week on Tuesday after placing sixth in the 1,500 meters at the NCAA Division II Track and Field Championship at Colorado State-Pueblo Neta and Eddie DeRose ThunderBowl.
MacDonald finished in sixth place in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:15.59.
MacDonald’s sixth place finish earned him All-American honors for the 10th time in his stellar career.
MacDonald also ran in the 5,000 meters were he finished in 13th with a time of 16:09.25.
This is MacDonald’s second Northwestern Mutual Athlete of the Week award as he won the honor on February 14, 2012.
