LOWELL, Mass. – After averaging 14.3 points, 4.3 assists, and 2.7 steals, senior Ayinde Hikim (Washington, D.C.) of the UMass Lowell men’s basketball team has earned River Hawk of the Week honors.
Following a victory at LIU where he paced the squad with three steals, Hikim had a career night at Massachusetts, shooting 10-17 (59%) from the field to set a new personal best with 23 points. The senior also posted a game-high seven assists and led the team with four steals in the victory.
In the week’s final game, Hikim led the River Hawks with 12 points and added three assists to help UMass Lowell take down St. Francis Brooklyn and finish with a 3-0 record on the week.
The "River Hawk of the Week" is chosen in voting by the UMass Lowell Athletic Communications staff. It honors the top athlete, male or female, based on performance during the previous week of competition.
