LOWELL, Mass. – After putting up his first career double-double against Central Connecticut State, sophomore forward Max Brooks (Waldorf, Md.) of the UMass Lowell men’s basketball team has earned the honor of River Hawk of the Week.
In Wednesday night’s Hall of Fame Showcase game against CCSU, Brooks tallied 18 points alongside 11 rebounds and three steals, all of which were career highs.
Two nights later at George Washington, he once again surpassed his career high, putting up 23 points, all while adding in five rebounds, three blocks and a steal in the River Hawks 67-56 victory.
Brooks has been a two-way threat all season, as he currently leads the River Hawks in multiple categories including points (55), field goal percentage (62.5%), rebounds (29) and blocks (10).
The "River Hawk of the Week" is chosen in voting by the UMass Lowell Athletic Communications staff. It honors the top athlete, male or female, based on performance during the previous week of competition.
