AS A SENIOR: Appeared in 12 matches, starting five • Had 103 assists, five kills and 40 digs in 33 games played • Had season-best 21 assists in a 3-1 loss vs. Princeton (9/21).
AS A JUNIOR: Played in all 25 matches (92 games) • Had 656 assists, 24 service aces, 16 kills and 10 blocks • Had double-digits assists in 23 of 25 matches • Highlights include 46 assists and four service aces in a 3-2 win over St. Michael's (10/9) • Had 16 digs and 36 assists in a 3-2 setback vs. Bentley (10/16/).
AS A SOPHOMORE: Appeared in 15 matches, starting one • Had 108 assists, one kill and one block in 29 games played • Tallied a kill in a 1-3 loss at Stonehill (11/1) • Had season-best eight digs and a block assist in the 3-0 sweep of Merrimack (10/25).
AS A FRESHMAN: Appeared in eight matches (10 games) • Compiled 22 assists and eight digs • Dished out a season-best seven assists in a win over Queens (9/17) • Had five digs against Dominican (9/11) • Totaled six assists in a win versus St. Michael[apos]s (10/26).
BEFORE UMASS LOWELL: A standout player at Dracut Senior High School for the past three seasons, serving as team captain for the last two • Named a Merrimack Valley Conference All-Star in 2008 and All-Conference in 2009 • Voted Team MVP as a junior and senior.
PERSONAL: Olivia Jean Parkins is one of three children of Karen and Rex Parkins of Dracut, Mass. • Chose UML because it had a reputable Biology program that would allow her to participate in research while learning valuable information in the classroom • Future plans include becoming a Biology teacher and volleyball coach • Lists the Boston Celtics, Bruins and Red Sox as her favorite teams and Rajon Rondo as her favorite athlete • Enjoys spending time with friends and going to the beach • Majoring in Biotechnology.
