Personal: Daughter of Lori and Anton McFarlane … Has an older brother, Raheem … Her nicknames include Jazz and Jazzy … Her interests include drawing … She describes her greatest sports moment this way: “During winter track 2016-2017 it was state relays and My head coach told my two other teammates that we could break the state record, having that in my head was a lot of pressure since it was my second year throwing shot put. My two other teammates that were part of the relay did their part, but I was not throwing my best at that moment. I had one more throw to break the relay record, I just threw enough to scrape by and break it that year. In spring the same two teammates and I broke the discus record by over 100 feet." … Chose UMass Lowell because “I did not want to move out of state, nor right in Boston. I thought it was just far enough from home, but close enough I needed to go home for a weekend. I like what’s around, the people that around too. I felt comfortable with the school, as well as that it was not too big or too small” … She hopes to work in a hospital setting … Majoring in Public Health: Health Science and is minoring in Spanish …
